Senior Customs Specialist

DH Customs Broker is a commercial and licensed custom brokers company offer Customs clearance (brokerage) services for all imports to Canada and the United States. We also offer all modes of transport including air, rail, ocean, courier and truck and clearance is obtained at all customs ports of Canada.

We are now looking for a fulltime Senior Customs Specialist to work in office

Your Responsibilities:

• Review, monitor and process import transactions on a daily basis, including B3, B2, Cadex, etc.
• Follow up with complex cases and support internal teams for customs clearance, contact CBSA if necessary
• Build and maintainexcellent, direct working relationships with the client and/or carriers, providesday to day contact and support
• Prioritize and complete work according to client’s needs, demands, customs requirements and DH standards for release conditions and ensure compliance
• Create and proactively maintain the client tariff database, ensuring all associated system maintenance files/information, associated vendors and keywords are accurate and current in order to take advantage of data defaults for accurate quality output and one-step processing. Update information as necessary
• Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance, and rating compliance
• Participate fully with other team members in the day-to-day operations of the team, including setting priorities, organizing, and scheduling work, coordinating with others, problem-solving and decision-making, participating in meetings and handling special projects

• Mandarin is an asset

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma/degree in international business/logistics/customs field, or equivalent work experience
• 2  years of experience as a customs broker, familiar with Customs Tariff
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel
• Proficiency in Candata is an asset
• Professional maturity and demonstrated ability to take initiative, to work independently and follow through on work assignments
• Competency to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
• Personable and courteous in working relationships with clients and colleagues
• Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to adjust to changing priorities
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
